The applicant for the proposed 242-apartment development at 2761 Macedonia Road wants to improve Old Macedonia Road with a 21-foot paved section divided into a 16-foot travel lane and a five-foot pedestrian portion. A September 28 Powder Springs report describes the design in an applicant letter dated September 21.

The proposed route would provide emergency fire access and connect pedestrians to project sidewalks along Macedonia Road and Barrett Parkway. Separately, staff recommend bringing the currently substandard road up to public-street standards if it is to be city-owned and maintained. Otherwise, the applicant would seek a transfer into private ownership and meet private-street standards.

The paving design is an applicant proposal, and the street-standard alternatives are recommended conditions on the linked annexation, rezoning and density-variance requests—not evidence of an approved or completed road improvement.
