Local brief

Barrett Parkway sidewalk recommendation now limited by existing right-of-way

Staff still seek a connecting sidewalk and accessible ramp, but the revised condition notes that the applicant does not control the adjacent property.

The recommended sidewalk connection for the proposed development at 2761 Macedonia Road now carries an explicit right-of-way limitation. Powder Springs’ September 28 report calls for linking the project’s Macedonia Road frontage sidewalk to the existing sidewalk south on Ernest Barrett Parkway, around the intersection’s southwest corner, but makes installation subject to the existing right-of-way because the applicant does not own or control the adjacent property.

The condition still calls for an accessible ramp from the crosswalk to the new sidewalk. The August 24 version recommended the same connection and ramp without the right-of-way qualification. These remain staff-recommended conditions on the linked annexation, rezoning and density-variance requests, not evidence of an approved or completed sidewalk project.
