Webb Bridge Park mural dedication penciled in for Nov. 13 at 11 a.m.

An Oct. 20 city summary described the mural as nearing completion. The public celebration remains tentative.

A public dedication for Webb Bridge Park’s tunnel mural is tentatively planned for Friday, Nov. 13, at 11 a.m., according to the action summary of Alpharetta’s Oct. 20 Natural Resources Commission meeting.[1][2]

The time fills a gap in our earlier dedication report. A separate summary of that evening’s work session described the mural as nearing completion. Neither summary confirms that the artwork is finished or that the event date is final; both are labeled public-service summaries rather than official records of proceedings.[1][2]

The artwork is intended to turn a walk through the tunnel into an informal nature lesson. Artist Sarah Emerson’s design statement lists a bee hidden among magnolia blooms, pond turtles, a fawn and a barred owl—details drawn into a project highlighting native plants, animals and insects.[3]

City Council approved the mural’s public-art application Sept. 14 as part of a unanimous, 7–0 consent-agenda vote. The September staff report put the project budget at $30,000: $20,000 for artist compensation and $10,000 for city preparation and finish layers. Those are budget figures, not verified final spending.[3][4]
