Local brief

A new date for Manning Oaks’ City Hall art reception: Nov. 4

The latest commission summary lists 5:30 p.m., rather than the earlier Nov. 5 plan at 5 p.m. The artwork is scheduled to remain on display until Dec. 3.

Families planning for the Manning Oaks Elementary School art reception at Alpharetta City Hall should note a different date and time: Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 5:30 p.m., according to the city’s Oct. 20 Natural Resources Commission work-session summary.[1][2]

Our earlier account of the planned student exhibition reflected the September summary’s Nov. 5 reception at 5 p.m. The October summary instead lists Nov. 4 at 5:30 p.m. for students, parents and city representatives, with participation certificates to be presented to students.[1][3]

The school’s earlier plan called for one winning artwork from each class, producing 32 pieces. The latest update schedules installation in City Hall’s community room for Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 9:30 a.m., with the art remaining on display until Dec. 3. City Hall is at 2 Park Plaza.[1][3]

These are scheduled plans, not confirmation that the display has been installed. The city labels its work-session summary an unofficial account of proceedings; the project update does not specify public viewing hours.[1]
