A push for speed tables on Faith Avenue SE has won unanimous support from Atlanta’s Transportation Committee—but the resolution remains a request for traffic calming, not a detailed installation plan.[1]

Four committee members voted Oct. 28 to give Councilmember Liliana Bakhtiari’s resolution, 26-R-4270, a favorable recommendation. Three members were absent. The agenda packet lists full City Council consideration for 1 p.m. Nov. 2 as pending, not completed.[1]

The resolution says residents prioritized speed tables between Glenwood Park Drive SE and Lewis Lane SE in a Glenwood Park Community Association transportation survey. Its operative language is broader: it asks the mayor or a designee to install “traffic calming devices” on that stretch under the Atlanta Department of Transportation’s standards and prescribed evaluation methods.[1]

That distinction matters for what residents can expect. The measure does not specify how many devices would be installed, their cost or an installation date. The committee recommendation advances the request; it does not establish that speed tables have been approved for construction.[1]
