Council backs Faith Avenue traffic calming in 10–0 vote
The adopted resolution asks for devices between Glenwood Park Drive and Lewis Lane, but sets no installation date, cost or device count.
Atlanta City Council voted 10–0 Nov. 2 to ask the mayor or a designee to install traffic-calming devices on Faith Avenue SE between Glenwood Park Drive SE and Lewis Lane SE, according to its draft action minutes.[1]
The vote moves Councilmember Liliana Bakhtiari’s resolution, 26-R-4270, beyond the 4–0 committee recommendation we previously reported. The Transportation Committee backed it Oct. 28; the full Council has now adopted the request.[1][2]
Speed tables helped drive the proposal. The resolution says residents prioritized them in a Glenwood Park Community Association transportation survey. But the adopted request uses the broader term “traffic calming devices” and calls for installation under the Atlanta Department of Transportation’s standards and prescribed evaluation methods.[1][2]
For residents, the vote establishes Council’s backing—not an installation timetable. The resolution specifies no cost, number of devices or installation date. The minutes record adoption of the request, not completed work.[1][2]
