The proposed agreements also set an answer-time objective and require monthly reports. Fulton commissioners are scheduled to consider them Oct. 21.
Explore the source documentsChattahoochee Hills would pay Fulton County $87,000 in 2027 for 911 dispatch and access to the county’s public-safety radio system under two proposed agreements scheduled for consideration Oct. 21. That covers the proposed city payments—not every cost of the arrangement.[1][2][3]
The dispatch agreement calls for a $57,000 annual city subsidy. A separate radio-access agreement would charge $30,000 annually in 2027 and 2028 for 50 police and fire radios. If renewed, that radio charge would rise 10% to $33,000 annually in 2029 and 2030.[1][2]
The radio payment buys access, not equipment: Chattahoochee Hills would remain responsible for purchasing and maintaining its radios. The dispatch draft also allows Fulton to continue collecting monthly 911 charges from wired and wireless telephone subscribers.[1][2]
For callers, the dispatch draft sets an objective of an average 15-second answer time for emergency calls “90% of the time,” with exceptions for unpredictable system overload, declared disasters and voice or data disruptions. That is a proposed service objective, not a report of actual answer times; the records reviewed do not establish whether Fulton currently meets it.[1]
The city would not get dedicated call-takers. Fulton’s consolidated center routes calls to the first available call-taker regardless of where they originate. The agreement would require monthly reports to the city administrator showing call volume, whether calls involved police, fire or EMS, and answer speed.[1]
The agreements remain separate requests for county approval: item 26-0707 covers radio access, and 26-0708 covers 911 communications. Commissioners’ meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Oct. 21 in Assembly Hall at the Fulton County Government Center, 141 Pryor Street SW in Atlanta.[3]
