Walk, run or ride: Riverview Park has a new paved river trail
An October 8 ribbon-cutting marked the new Smyrna segment, one piece of a planned 100-mile RiverLands network.
A new paved, multi-use trail section is open at Riverview Park in Smyrna, giving walkers, runners and cyclists another place to reach the Chattahoochee River.[1][2]
Find the park at 6275 Riverview Road SE. Trust for Public Land and the City of Smyrna announced an October 8 ribbon-cutting for the RiverLands Showcase Trail section; the Chattahoochee Hills city manager’s October 9 update confirms the ceremony took place and describes the path as newly opened.[1][2]
The RiverLands project overview identifies Trust for Public Land and Smyrna as the segment’s funders and describes Riverview Park as the future northern gateway to the full Showcase corridor.[3]
The distinction for visitors: this is an open park segment, not an announcement that the entire regional route is finished. The broader RiverLands vision calls for a 100-mile network connecting communities from Buford Dam to Chattahoochee Bend State Park, with future links to longer trails described in the project overview.[1][3]
