Same tax rate, not the rollback: two hearings set for Nov. 5

Chattahoochee Hills proposes 8.20 mills for Fulton County properties. Residents can comment at City Hall at noon or 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 5.

Chattahoochee Hills proposes keeping its 2026 city property-tax rate for Fulton County properties at 8.20 mills—unchanged from the current rate, but above the city's stated 8.14-mill rollback rate.[1]

Residents have two opportunities to weigh in on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026: noon and 6:30 p.m. Both public hearings are at City Hall, 6505 Rico Road. Although the proposal concerns Fulton County properties, the city also encourages residents and property owners in its Coweta County portion to participate.[1]

The proposed rate is 0.06 mills, or 0.74%, above rollback, according to the city's Oct. 26 notice. An unchanged rate does not guarantee an unchanged bill: the notice says an individual owner's bill will depend on whether the property's assessed value increased or decreased.[1]

Mayor Camille Lowe framed retaining 8.20 mills as a way to protect city services while allowing growth in the tax digest to support investment in local priorities.[1]

The council held the first of three hearings on Oct. 6 but took no action on the rate, according to draft action minutes. The Oct. 26 notice continues to describe 8.20 mills as the city's recommendation—not an adopted rate.[1][2]
