Text ‘Join’: Chatt Hills offers another way to get city updates

One word is the advertised ticket to Chattahoochee Hills city updates: Text “Join” to (470) 241-2640, according to the city’s October 9 update.[1]

The signup graphic lists weather updates, road closures, holiday reminders and event updates as examples of messages. To cancel, it says to text “STOP.”[1]

Another graphic, labeled “NEW FEATURE,” advertises both text and voice notifications and tells residents to text or call the same number to subscribe. The options appear alongside promotion of the My Chatt Hills smartphone app.[1]

One distinction matters: The update separately describes free emergency alerts through Fulton FALCON/EverBridge for weather and area incidents threatening Chattahoochee Hills. It does not say whether signing up at the advertised phone number also enrolls residents in that emergency-alert system.[1]
