Zoning board backs Bulldogs food-truck permit; NPU E recommends denial
The board recommends conditional approval, but its marked agenda does not specify the conditions. Staff proposed a three-year permit and a 1 a.m. food-service cutoff.
Atlanta’s Zoning Review Board recommended conditional approval Nov. 5 for an outdoor-sales permit serving the food truck behind Bulldogs at 893 Peachtree Street NE. The recommendation differs from NPU E’s position: denial.[1][2]
The truck is not awaiting this permit to make its debut. Planning staff says it has operated since June under a separate special administrative permit, SAP-26-108. The applicant seeks indefinite permission, with service from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to midnight Sunday.[2]
As we reported in our account of staff’s proposed limits, planners recommended a three-year, nontransferable permit, no outdoor amplified music, outdoor seating ending at midnight and food-truck operations ending at 1 a.m. daily. That would shorten the requested Monday–Saturday service by an hour.[2]
Staff supported the request, saying no complaints or concerns had been reported during the previously permitted outdoor-dining operation. The marked agenda does not explain NPU E’s denial recommendation or identify the board’s conditions, so it does not establish that the board endorsed staff’s exact restrictions.[1][2]
The board’s action is a recommendation, not final approval of the special-use permit. The request is U-26-16, also listed as ordinance 26-O-1576; the records reviewed do not establish a final City Council decision.[1][2][3]
