Local brief
Cascade Avenue duplex rezoning gets a 30-day hold
The case is listed for Dec. 3. The requested zoning change would bring an existing duplex into compliance, with no construction required, the city says.
Atlanta’s Zoning Review Board has put the rezoning request for an existing duplex at 672 Cascade Avenue SW on hold for 30 days, according to its marked Nov. 5 agenda.[1][2]
We previously reported staff support for a December delay at the applicant’s request. The marked agenda now records the board’s deferral—not approval of the zoning change.[1][3]
The board’s December agenda lists case Z-26-55 for Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. in City Hall’s second-floor Council Chambers. That is a scheduled review, not a completed decision on the rezoning.[4]
The request would change R-4 single-family zoning to RG-2, Residential General Sector 2, retaining the Beltline and Intown South Commercial Corridor overlays. The city’s housing-impact statement says the change would bring a nonconforming duplex into zoning compliance and that no construction is required.[1][2]
