Atlanta’s City Utilities Committee voted 5–0 Sept. 29 to hold a proposed $17,469,027 reserve transfer for the North Fork Storage Tank and Pump Station. Ordinance 26-O-1530 says the hold was requested by the department; the transfer would add funds to the project through the FY 2027 water and wastewater commercial-paper budget.

The Department of Watershed Management is constructing the facility on Georgia Department of Transportation property near Sidney Marcus Boulevard and Buford Highway. Its planned 15-million-gallon tank, 75-million-gallon-per-day pump station and diversion structure are intended to add system capacity, capture major-storm runoff and reduce sanitary sewer overflows.

The project also includes widening and stabilizing the Cheshire Farm Trail, with overlooks, permeable surfacing and retaining walls. The minutes list Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. as the next checkpoint. The recorded hold concerns the funding ordinance; it does not establish that construction has stopped.
