Atlanta’s held zoning rewrite proposes changing which existing site-specific restrictions survive a new citywide code. Ordinance 26-O-1508 would generally preserve conditions in rezoning ordinances introduced and adopted from Jan. 1, 2000, through the new ordinance’s effective date, while repealing earlier conditions. The provision is subject to vested rights and express exceptions.

Lawfully operating special uses could continue under their applicable zoning conditions. The proposed text also expressly retains specified conditions for places including Buckhead Village and the Poncey-Highland Historic District.

The minutes list Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. as the next checkpoint. The proposed ordinance would take effect 30 days after becoming law; these records establish a held proposal, not adoption of the new rules.
