Staff backs requested delay for Glen Iris second-story addition

The applicant proposing a second-story addition at 586 Glen Iris Drive NE has requested a delay to continue working with the neighborhood. Atlanta planning staff supports the request and recommends postponing the setback case to Nov. 12, according to an Oct. 8 memorandum to the Board of Zoning Adjustment.

Building upward over the existing footprint still requires relief from the side-yard rules. Case V-26-131 seeks to reduce the required distance from the north side property line from seven feet to five feet, and from the south side from seven feet to 2.2 feet. The memorandum records staff support for a delay—not a board decision postponing the case or granting those exceptions.
