The proposal appears on the Oct. 14 Finance/Executive agenda after a hold for a public hearing. The agenda does not establish that the hearing will occur that day.
Explore the source documentsA proposal to bring properties along Glynn Drive SE into Atlanta would change two sets of boundaries: the city’s and its independent school system’s. The measure appears on the Finance/Executive Committee’s Oct. 14 agenda for its 1:30 p.m. meeting.[1]
Councilmember Liliana Bakhtiari sponsors ordinance 26-O-1542, which concerns properties with frontage on Glynn Drive in unincorporated DeKalb County. The proposal calls for annexation through the “60% method” and for extending Atlanta’s school-system boundaries alongside the municipal expansion.[1]
The draft agenda notes that the ordinance was held Sept. 30 “for a public hearing.” But that annotation does not establish that Oct. 14 is the hearing date. The upcoming meeting is a committee checkpoint, not confirmation of a hearing or an approved boundary change.[1]
The agenda description does not identify individual parcels, acreage or the number of homes involved. It establishes the proposed change in city and school jurisdiction, but not the full area that would be affected.[1]
