A $70,000 housing-placement boost wins council approval

Up to $70,000 from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund would support the Urban League’s work finding homes for low-income residents referred through the Housing Help Center.

Atlanta City Council has approved up to $70,000 more for the Urban League of Greater Atlanta’s work finding affordable housing for low-income residents referred through the city’s Housing Help Center. The November 2 consent vote was 10–0, according to draft action minutes.[1][2]

Resolution 26-R-4278 draws the donation from Atlanta’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund. It supports the nonprofit’s work identifying and placing referred residents in safe, secure, affordable housing.[1][2]

The committee-backed housing supplement we previously reported now has full council approval. The Finance/Executive Committee unanimously recommended it October 28.[1][2]

This is an addition to an existing arrangement, not a new housing program. The resolution cites an earlier donation of up to $500,000 under Resolution 25-R-4287 and authorizes the mayor or a designee to amend that donation agreement.[1][2]

Council approval does not establish that the additional money has been paid. The resolution requires legal approval, execution and delivery of the agreement before it binds the city; completion of those steps is not established by these records.[1][2]
