$70,000 housing-placement boost wins finance panel’s backing
The proposed trust-fund donation would help low-income residents referred through Atlanta’s Housing Help Center. The committee recommendation is not final approval.
Atlanta’s Finance/Executive Committee on Oct. 28 unanimously recommended up to $70,000 more for the Urban League of Greater Atlanta’s work placing low-income residents in affordable housing, according to the committee’s draft minutes. The nonprofit serves residents referred through the city’s Housing Help Center.[1][2]
Resolution 26-R-4278, sponsored by Councilmember Jason H. Winston, would draw the money from Atlanta’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund.[1][2]
The housing-placement proposal we reported before committee review now has the panel’s backing—not final council approval. The minutes list Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. as the next consideration.[1][2]
The supplement would build on an existing donation arrangement. The resolution says an earlier donation of up to $500,000 was made under Resolution 25-R-4287 and would authorize the mayor or his designee to amend that agreement. Its terms say the agreement would not bind the city until legal approval, execution and delivery to the Urban League.[2]
