Atlanta proposes moving $3.5 million out of airport reserves, including $2.5 million for firefighting vehicles at Hartsfield-Jackson. The Transportation Committee is scheduled to review the measure Oct. 14 at 10 a.m.[1]

Ordinance 26-O-1584 would reallocate money within the fiscal 2027 Airport Renewal and Extension Fund. It is listed for first reading—not as an approved purchase or completed expenditure.[1]

The draft also lists professional services under the airport’s Properties account, but prints that allocation as “$1,00,000.” The intended amount is unclear. The ordinance does not explain the services or specify how many firefighting vehicles the proposed funding would buy.[1]

For now, the proposal establishes a requested budget shift, not authorization already granted. The packet lists both committee and City Council consideration as pending.[1]
