A proposed roundabout at Habersham Road and Valley Road would get up to $200,000 for engineering and design under a measure on the Atlanta City Council's Nov. 2 agenda. The money would pay for design work—not construction of the roundabout.[1][2]
Resolution 26-R-4269, sponsored by Councilmember Mary Norwood and substituted by the Transportation Committee, would authorize a project management agreement with the Buckhead Community Improvement District. The district would manage and deliver the engineering and design. The council meeting is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.[1]
The $200,000 cap should not be read as the price of a finished roundabout. The materials reviewed do not establish a construction budget or start date. The agreement remains a proposal before the council, not an approved construction project.[1][2]
