Saddler Jones could shed ‘interim’ city-manager title Monday

Council’s Nov. 2 agenda proposes appointing her city manager and authorizing an employment agreement. Contract terms remain unverified.

Tammi Saddler Jones could move from interim to permanent city manager when the Powder Springs City Council meets Monday, Nov. 2.[1][2][3]

Resolution RES0 26-143, listed on the consent agenda, would appoint her city manager and authorize the mayor to execute an employment agreement. The agenda lists a contract attachment but does not state the pay, contract length or appointment start date. Those terms have not been verified for this report.[1]

Saddler Jones was assistant city manager when council named her interim manager July 20, according to the city’s Aug. 17 action summary. Retiring City Manager Pam Conner was retained under a consulting agreement to help with the transition. Council’s Oct. 5 minutes continued to identify Saddler Jones as interim manager.[2][3]

The job oversees day-to-day city operations. The city manager recommends the annual budget, supervises staff below the department-head level and implements policies adopted by the governing body, according to the city’s description of the position.[4]

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 4483 Pineview Drive. Public-comment signup is in person from 6:40 to 7 p.m.; the first 12 people registering get five minutes each. Virtual public comment is not available.[1]
