Three start times, two floors: What to know about council’s 2027 calendar
Powder Springs’ approved schedule includes a Tuesday meeting in January and one regular meeting a month from July through September.
Powder Springs City Council unanimously approved its 2027 meeting schedule on Oct. 19. For anyone planning to attend, the calendar has three start times to keep straight—not just the regular meeting’s 7 p.m. start.[1][2]
Work sessions begin at 5 p.m. in the second-floor Council Conference Room at City Hall, 4483 Pineview Drive. Before each regular agenda meeting, council holds a 6:30 p.m. pre-discussion in the first-floor Council Chambers, where the 7 p.m. meeting also takes place.[2]
January brings two exceptions to watch. The Jan. 4 work session falls on the same Monday as the regular meeting, starting at 5 p.m. The second regular meeting is Tuesday, Jan. 19, because the Martin Luther King holiday falls on Monday, Jan. 18. A separate work session is listed for Wednesday, Jan. 13.[2]
The regular meeting pattern is the first and third Mondays of the month, with a lighter calendar in summer and December. From July through September, council meets only on the third Monday; in December, it meets only on the first Monday.[2]
