Local brief

Early voting ends Friday—and not every voting site accepts absentee ballots

Palmetto Library and Fulton’s Union City elections hub offer early voting until 7 p.m. Oct. 30. The county marks Wolf Creek Library as an absentee drop-box site.

Early voting in Fulton County, Georgia, ends Friday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. Friday is also the county’s listed last day to return an absentee ballot in a drop box before the Nov. 3 election.[1][2]

Chattahoochee Hills voters can use any Fulton County advance-voting location. Options include Palmetto Library, 9111 Cascade Palmetto Highway in Palmetto, and the Fulton County Elections Hub and Operations Center, 5600 Campbellton Fairburn Road in Union City. The county lists weekday voting hours of 7 a.m.–7 p.m.[1][3]

But an early-voting site is not automatically an absentee-ballot return site. The county’s flyer says ballot returns at advance-voting locations without a designated drop box or registrar’s office have been discontinued. It also warns that absentee ballots cannot be returned at Election Day polling places.[1]

For a designated drop box, the county marks Wolf Creek Library, 3100 Enon Road in South Fulton, as one of seven advance-voting locations with that service. Palmetto Library is listed for early voting but is not marked as a drop-box location.[1]

On Tuesday, Nov. 3, the location rule changes: voters must use their assigned Election Day polling place, rather than choosing any county voting site. Check your assignment through Georgia’s My Voter Page at https://mvp.sos.ga.gov/s/.[2][3]
