A proposal to return water-and-sewer overpayments reaches Atlanta City Council’s Oct. 19 agenda with a $3,000 math gap: its two listed refunds add up to more than the resolution would authorize.[1]

The attachment lists $29,194.50 for an account named “2600 PTREE WEST,” at 2600 Peachtree Road NE, and $35,952.54 for “FASTENAL COMPANY GA 500,” at 4600 Frederick Drive SW.[1]

Together, those entries total $65,147.04. But both the table’s printed total and resolution 26-R-3995 say $62,147.04. The resolution and attachment do not reconcile the figures.[1]

For both accounts, the attachment attributes the credit balance to delayed notice of a customer’s meter abandonment or another account-status change. The resolution separately requires any outstanding water-and-sewer charges to be deducted when refunds are issued; it does not identify an offset explaining the $3,000 difference.[1]

The Finance/Executive Committee recommended the substitute 5–0 on Oct. 14. Full Council consideration remains listed as pending for Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. The committee recommendation is not final authorization, and the packet does not establish that the refunds have been paid.[1]
