Council clears $175,000-a-term plan to keep WorkSource’s operator
The grant-funded agreement would run through June 2027, with three annual renewal options. The vote does not establish that a replacement contract has been signed.
Atlanta City Council voted 10–0 on Nov. 2 to authorize a $175,000-per-term agreement retaining In The Door LLC as WorkSource Atlanta’s one-stop career-center operator.[1][2]
Councilmember Eshé Collins’ resolution, 26-R-4272, authorizes an initial term ending June 30, 2027, with three one-year renewal options. The work would be paid for with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act grants.[1][2]
For job seekers, the contract supports a one-stop model that brings access to job training, education and employment services together at a single location. The operator agreement covers workforce services and activities among the center’s partners and providers.[2]
Rather than conduct another city solicitation, Atlanta would use Fulton County’s existing agreement. The resolution says the county contract went through competitive solicitation and offers established pricing and terms—a route the city argues will meet its operational timetable.[2]
Our earlier report on the committee-backed plan noted that the existing contract’s stated Oct. 31 expiration preceded the scheduled council vote. The Nov. 2 adoption now establishes council approval, but the records reviewed do not establish whether an interim arrangement covered that interval or whether services were interrupted.[1][2]
Council approval is not proof of a signed replacement contract. The resolution says the agreement becomes binding only after legal approval, execution by the mayor or a designee, clerk attestation and delivery to In The Door. The records reviewed do not establish when those steps occurred.[1][2]
