Atlanta City Council returned the proposed sale of the Atlanta City Detention Center to the Finance/Executive Committee as held Oct. 5, according to draft action minutes. Resolution 26-R-4001 remains unapproved; the minutes list Oct. 14 at 1:30 p.m. as the next committee checkpoint.

The proposal would sell the center at 254 Peachtree Street SW to Fulton County for no more than $68 million. A concurrent lease, capped at $1 for up to 50 years, would retain space for people in city custody or under Atlanta Municipal Court jurisdiction. The continued hold authorizes neither the sale nor the lease, and the minutes do not establish a completed transaction.
