Explore the source documentsAtlanta’s Public Safety and Legal Administration Committee is scheduled to consider $30,300 in proposed settlements Monday, Oct. 12, at 1 p.m., covering three separate claims involving a sidewalk injury, sewer damage and dormitory flooding.[1]
The largest proposed payment is $20,000 to Leah Caldwell for bodily injury allegedly sustained in a Dec. 18, 2025, sidewalk incident at 57 25th Street NW.[1]
A separate resolution would pay Alec Horn $7,800 for alleged property damage from a Feb. 18, 2026, sewer incident at 1923 Beecher Road SW. Another would pay Dnijah Coates and her attorneys $2,500 for alleged property damage from Sept. 14, 2023, stormwater flooding at 22 Lawshe Street SW, Dorm B1.[1]
Each resolution would settle all past, present and future claims arising from the specified incident. The proposed payments would resolve those claims; the resolution text does not establish what caused the incidents or whether any underlying sidewalk, sewer or drainage condition has been corrected.[1]
These are proposed settlements, not recorded payment approvals. The packet lists committee consideration on Oct. 12 and City Council consideration on Oct. 19 as pending for all three resolutions.[1]
