Snow, skating and a 6 p.m. parade: Sparkle’s December 6 plan

The city’s holiday celebration begins at City Green at 4 p.m., with skating offered first-come, first-served until capacity is reached.

Sparkle Sandy Springs returns Sunday, December 6, with festivities at City Green beginning at 4 p.m. and the parade stepping off at 6 p.m., according to the city’s November 5 announcement.[1]

For parade-watchers, the route starts at Mount Vernon Highway and Lake Forrest Drive, winds through City Springs and ends at Sandy Springs Circle. The city is also promoting Sparkle Wonderland along Mount Vernon Highway as a viewing spot, with snow play, a train ride and oversized holiday inflatables.[1]

At City Green, the lineup includes live holiday music, a gift market, hot cocoa and seasonal treats, falling snow and ice skating. One planning detail matters: skating sessions are first-come, first-served until capacity is reached. The event announcement does not specify skating admission prices.[1]

Around City Green, Hillcrest Sparkle Village will feature miniature houses decorated by local schools and nonprofit organizations. Visitors can vote for their favorite display.[1]

The evening is set to culminate with Mayor Rusty Paul leading a community countdown to light both the Christmas tree and Menorah.[1]
