Local brief
392 homes and shops: Hillcrest eyes a summer 2027 opening
Sandy Springs describes 362 apartments, 30 rental townhomes and more than 19,000 square feet of retail at the development near City Springs.
Hillcrest is expected to open in summer 2027 with 392 homes and more than 19,000 square feet of retail, according to a Nov. 5 announcement from the city of Sandy Springs, Georgia.[1]
The housing mix is 362 apartments and 30 for-rent townhomes. The city describes the retail space as part of a development built around a central plaza and green space, within walking distance of City Springs.[1]
The opening projection appears in the city's Sparkle Sandy Springs holiday announcement, which identifies Hillcrest as a Sparkle Village sponsor. It gives an opening season, rather than a specific date.[1]
Hillcrest is distinct from the City Springs expansion we reported on in October. The city's Oct. 20 redevelopment notice identifies Hillcrest as an 8.1-acre project at Mount Vernon Highway and Sandy Springs Circle, across the street from that expansion. High Street Residential, Trammell Crow Company's residential subsidiary, is developing Hillcrest.[2]
