Sandy Springs City Council approved a $182,000 purchase of roadside land and construction rights from Fulton County at 5025 Roswell Road on Sept. 1. The acquisition serves the city's Roswell Road streetscape project.

The deal separates what the city would own from what it could temporarily use: about 3,044 square feet of permanent road right-of-way and another 1,535 square feet of construction access. The attached agreement assigns the acquisition to Phases II and III.

Fulton County signed the purchase option Aug. 3. The council resolution authorizes the city manager to execute the agreement, subject to city attorney and finance officer approval; it does not establish that the sale has closed.

The temporary access ends two years after construction use of the easement area begins, or when the project is completed and finally accepted, whichever comes first. Its clock starts with use of the land—not the council vote.
