Riverside bridge upgrade for heavier vehicles is in final design

Sandy Springs' proposed Riverside bridge upgrade would allow the bridge to accommodate heavier vehicles. The city's Sept. 18, 2026, capital-project report lists final design underway for project S2132.

Right-of-way acquisition and utility coordination are also underway, according to the report. Property appraisals and related cost estimates have been received and are under review. The entry documents design and acquisition work, rather than a completed bridge upgrade.
