Final design and right-of-way acquisition were complete for Sandy Springs’ Hammond Drive widening proposal, according to the city’s Sept. 18, 2026, capital-project report. Project S2193 would widen the road to four lanes between Roswell Road and Glenridge Drive and add bicycle, pedestrian and transit infrastructure.

The report lists permits received from the Army Corps of Engineers and Georgia EPD, along with a land-disturbance permit. A construction bid package was under review; advertising for bids and beginning advance utility relocations were listed as next steps.

The project description limits current funding to “PE and ROW only”—engineering and right-of-way work. The entry therefore establishes preparation for construction bidding, not full construction funding or an awarded construction contract.
