Current coverage updates this story. Staff back a 60-square-foot flashing sign where animated displays are banned →

A proposed animated, flashing and changing sign at 580 Atlanta Student Movement Boulevard SW is listed for Atlanta Zoning Review Board consideration Nov. 5. Case Z-26-60 seeks permission for a display no larger than 60 square feet.[1]

The same amended waiver appears in the Zoning Committee record as ordinance 26-O-1549, marked unanimously referred to committee. Its supporting text would allow one double-sided sign and waive specified zoning and sign-code provisions for this location.[2]

The Nov. 5 meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the second-floor City Council Chambers. The agenda listing and committee referral do not establish permission already granted to erect the sign.[1][2]
