GFL notices advertise $24 trash. Is recycling $11 or free?

Chattahoochee Hills’ October newsletter lists a recycling charge alongside a free signup link. Confirm what applies to your address; the city does not handle service or billing.

Chattahoochee Hills’ October newsletters advertise weekly GFL trash pickup at $24 a month, with resident code 009CHTHIL for preferred pricing. But recycling warrants a separate question before signing up: the October 9 issue lists an $11 charge and also invites readers to “Sign up for free recycling.”[1][2]

That signup link leads to GFL’s general service-request page, which asks for an address to find available services. The newsletter does not explain whether the free invitation and the $11 charge concern different services or eligibility conditions. The link alone is not enough to establish that recycling is free for every city resident.[1][3]

Our earlier guide to GFL’s advertised pricing already reported the charges and resident code. The additional caveat is the free-recycling invitation—not a newly established price change.[1][2]

This is not a city-run collection or billing service. The city describes a nonexclusive franchise agreement and says transactions are solely between GFL and its customers. Residents seeking the advertised offer can call GFL at 770-474-9273 and quote code 009CHTHIL.[1]

Before enrolling, ask GFL to confirm the total recurring bill, which collections it includes and whether free recycling applies to your address. The city’s notice is not an itemized customer quote, and the linked company flyer describes customized service plans rather than a standard household package.[1][4]
