Chattahoochee Hills approves tax-collection changes for C-PACER financing

Chattahoochee Hills council unanimously approved two related C-PACER measures as amended on September 1, according to draft minutes. Items 26-057 and 26-058 authorize the mayor to sign, and approve, an amendment concerning the Fulton County Tax Commissioner's billing and collection responsibilities.

The packet describes added responsibilities for billing, collecting and distributing C-PACER assessment payments. The program, established in August, allows qualifying improvements to be paid for, financed or refinanced through arrangements in which participating property owners voluntarily request assessments.

Under the state-law provision quoted in the agreement, those assessments are billed and collected in installments by the same tax collector and on the same schedule as local property taxes.
