Old Lost Mountain fence plan gets staff backing with no-regrading condition

Powder Springs staff recommend approving two linked fence requests in Old Lost Mountain Estates with conditions protecting drainage. The report, dated Aug. 4, recommends prohibiting regrading or changes to ground elevations during installation and requiring the fence to preserve stormwater flow through drainage easements.

The requests would reduce a setback from 10 feet to 5 feet and allow a six-foot fence in a street-facing yard on a corner lot. Staff say the western yard functions as a private side yard despite the front-yard fence-height restriction. The report recommends approval; it is not a council decision.

The records describe the setback differently: the application measures it from a sewer line, while staff describe a stormwater-drainage-easement setback. Those descriptions should not be treated as interchangeable.
