Cobb signaled plans to oppose Macedonia Road housing annexation
A Powder Springs staff report says the county sent a Notice of Intent to Object on Aug. 11, 2026, over a request to bring 10.114 acres into the city.
The proposal seeks mixed-use zoning and permission for more homes per acre at 2761 Macedonia Road.

SCP Acquisitions, LLC requested the annexation and rezoning. The site carries Cobb County’s Single-Family Residential zoning and borders Powder Springs on its northern, eastern and southern sides.
