Holy Innocents’ homecoming lighting appeal set for Sept. 15

Sandy Springs council will consider whether to reverse a permit denial for temporary football-field lights at the school's Oct. 2 celebration.

In this report: scheduled · Sep 3, 2026

Sandy Springs City Council is scheduled Sept. 15 to hear Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School's appeal of a denied special-event permit. The school requested temporary football-field lighting for its Oct. 2, 2026, homecoming game and celebration.

Source p. 3

The city manager's denial letter says the school's zoning conditions limit athletic-field lighting to low-level security lighting for specified walkways, parking lots and structures. The letter says those conditions have not been amended and conflict with the requested temporary high-intensity field lights.

Source p. 34

Council is being asked to decide whether the denial should stand or be reversed and the permit granted. The regular meeting is listed for the Studio Theatre at City Hall, 1 Galambos Way, following the work session.
