A motion to grant Holy Innocents Episcopal School a special-event permit failed 3–4 at Sandy Springs’ Sept. 15 council meeting, leaving the city’s denial in place. The school sought temporary football-field lighting for its Oct. 2, 2026, homecoming game and celebration.

The city manager told council that the school’s conditional-use permit does not allow football-field lighting and that staff could not override council-approved zoning conditions. The school had appealed her decision to uphold the denial of application SE-26-27.
