Planning panel backed 195-home Old Milton plan with trail and sidewalk conditions

Alpharetta's Planning Commission voted 7-0 on July 30 to recommend approval of up to 195 for-sale townhomes at 3842 Old Milton Parkway, according to the city's unofficial meeting summary. The Empire Old Milton/Camden Pond request would change roughly 29 acres from an office land-use designation to high-density residential.

Recommended conditions call for the developer to dedicate a public-access easement and construct a trail connection at least 12 feet wide. They also call for sidewalks along Old Milton Parkway connecting to Camden Way and along Cotton Creek Entry between Old Milton Parkway and Waters Ferry Way, subject to the specified city and state approvals.

The recommendation also calls for a 60-foot building setback and a 25-foot undisturbed tree-save strip along Pod B's north and east boundaries south of Whitestone Place. Those protections and public pedestrian links also appear in the applicant's proposed conditions.
