Hope Road sidewalk plan would use federal grant funds

The project consultant determined an environmental review was required, according to the Sept. 1 council agenda packet.

The packet says the mayor’s signature on the review would let the sidewalk project proceed to acquiring land rights and construction.

The details

Sandy Springs hired Kimley-Horn and Associates in July 2024 to design the project. The contract also covered environmental studies and coordination required by HUD’s Community Development Block Grant program.

The city held a public open house on March 20, 2025, at Sandy Springs City Hall, providing concept plans and a project fact sheet. The packet reported receiving one comment card with favorable comments.
