Fulton proposal would limit oral public comment to substantive agenda-related matters

A proposal on Fulton County’s Sept. 16 agenda would limit oral public comment to matters reasonably related to substantive items on the meeting agenda. Elsewhere, the same agenda describes public comment as a place for county-related opinions, concerns and requests.

Under item 26-0601, the proposed resolution also calls for viewpoint-neutral rules of order, objective standards for addressing actual disruption and preservation of protected criticism of public officials, employees and county actions. The agenda requests approval of the policy change; it does not record adoption.
