County seeks former-lake runoff modeling for Macedonia Road apartment plan

Cobb County stormwater comments in a Sept. 10 Powder Springs report recommend accounting for a former lake's runoff-control benefit when designing stormwater management for the proposed 242-apartment development at 2761 Macedonia Road. The comments describe a dam at the site's southwest corner that created an approximately 1.6-acre lake and was breached between 2014 and 2016.

The county recommends modeling pre-development flows as though the undeveloped site still discharged through the lake and dam. It also recommends a sediment survey documenting the condition of a downstream lake before land disturbance. The report presents these as county recommendations, not adopted development conditions.
