Atlanta proposes accepting a previously awarded $2 million federal grant for environmental engineering and design of the Centennial Yards Complete Streets project downtown. Ordinance 26-O-1559, listed in the Transportation Committee’s Sept. 30 minutes, would add the money to the fiscal 2027 intergovernmental grant budget.

The supporting ordinance says the U.S. Department of Transportation awarded the funds in January 2025. The proposal would establish an agreement with Centennial Yards Company for program-management assistance and a required 20% local match of up to $500,000. The proposed agreements would become binding only after execution by all required parties.
