Hartsfield-Jackson’s “Perimeter Gates, Inspections & Exits” contract has grown beyond its name. A proposed $10.75 million renewal would keep AUS-HSG JV on the job for another year, from February 13, 2027, through February 12, 2028.[1][2]

Atlanta’s Transportation Committee recommended the renewal October 28. The City Council’s November 2 agenda lists it for consideration, with the meeting scheduled for 1 p.m. It is not a completed council approval.[1]

The agreement began with perimeter-gate monitoring, access control, security inspections and compliance oversight. An earlier amendment expanded its scope to support One Stop Security, an initiative the city describes as streamlining screening for passengers and baggage arriving from international locations and connecting at the airport.[1][2]

That amendment also added funding for increased security and screening requirements during what the ordinance described as a recent federal government shutdown. Those additions belong to the existing agreement; the November proposal is its first one-year renewal.[1][2]

The proposed renewal would be paid from the Airport Revenue Fund, split between roughly $4.31 million in fiscal 2027 and $6.44 million in fiscal 2028. Even with council authorization, the resolution says the renewal would not bind the city until the mayor or a designee exercises it and delivers it to AUS-HSG JV.[1]
