An ordinance on the Community Development/Human Services Committee’s Sept. 29 draft agenda proposes reprogramming up to $1 million in fiscal 2025 Community Development Block Grant funds for the Department of Parks and Recreation. Its budget exhibit labels the proposed appropriation “Park Improvements” without naming a park in that line.

The city says it reviewed spending rates, staffing and services for projects already awarded fiscal 2025 funds before proposing the shift. The ordinance concerns previously authorized grant funding, not a new $1 million grant award; its second-reading agenda placement does not establish that the reprogramming was approved.
