Atlanta parking-lot plan seeks up to $544,000, lists $461,000 to pay for it
The proposal covers Dunbar Neighborhood Center, the Zone 1 precinct and a Pollard Avenue site. Its funding list leaves an unexplained $83,000 difference ahead of Oct. 14 committee review.
Explore the source documentsA proposal to repair or replace parking-lot pavement at three Atlanta sites seeks authority to spend up to $544,000. But the funding amounts itemized in the resolution add up to $461,000—an $83,000 difference the proposal does not explain.[1][2]
Resolution 26-R-4194 is scheduled for Finance/Executive Committee consideration Oct. 14 at 1:30 p.m. The figures show a mismatch between the proposed ceiling and listed allocations, not an established cost overrun or money already spent.[1][2]
The measure would authorize a first task order to Precision 2000, Inc., under a job-order contracting agreement for the Department of Enterprise Asset Management. It covers 818 Pollard Avenue; Dunbar Neighborhood Center at 477 Windsor Street; and the Zone 1 precinct at 2315 Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway. The $544,000 ceiling is for the combined work, not each location.[1]
The funding list assigns $170,000 from the American Rescue Plan Act fund to a Dunbar Neighborhood Center project and another $170,000 from that fund to a project labeled “Atl Community Center.” It also lists $121,000 from the 2021B General Obligation Bond Fund for police renovations. Those three amounts total $461,000.[2]
Committee consideration remains pending in the packet, and the resolution gives no construction timetable. It also says the task order would not bind Atlanta until the chief procurement officer approves it and it is delivered to Precision 2000. The upcoming meeting is a review checkpoint—not authorization already granted or a notice that paving will begin.[1][2]
