Atlanta panel backs Municipal Court exemption from vacancy-board submission

Atlanta’s Finance/Executive Committee unanimously recommended a substitute resolution Sept. 30 requesting removal of the requirement that Municipal Court personnel requests be submitted to the Vacancy Review Board.

The supporting resolution describes the board’s review of new hires, promotions and salary adjustments as part of citywide budget and personnel controls. Resolution 26-R-3990 received a committee recommendation, not an implemented exemption. The minutes list Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. as the next checkpoint.
