Atlanta panel backs District 12 trash-bin audit to identify coverage gaps

Atlanta’s City Utilities Committee unanimously recommended Sept. 29 a request to audit public trash bins in District 12. Resolution 26-R-4120 asks the transportation, public works, and parks and recreation departments to inventory bins under their respective jurisdictions and identify underserved areas.

The requested inventory would document bin numbers, locations, condition and service frequency. The minutes list Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. as the next checkpoint. The committee recommendation does not establish a completed audit or installation of additional bins.
