Atlanta's Public Safety and Legal Administration Committee voted unanimously Sept. 14 in favor of an amendment to the police department's Axon Enterprise contract to add funds for more fleet and body-worn cameras. The ordinance sets a ceiling of $40,041,840.91 over the remainder of the contract's base term.

The proposal attributes the need for additional cameras to an increase in sworn personnel. The minutes give no proposed count for either type of camera; the favorable committee vote is not final authorization of the amendment.
